 Friendly Massey Marathon & Half Marathon, 10K Massey,is in Ontario CA. The Friendly Massey Marathon has had many names such as the Northern Lites Marathon, the Rainbow Country Marathon, the Voyageur Marathon, the Friendly Voyageur Marathon and now the Friendly Massey Marathon. The name has changed but the friendly spirit of the race has remained the same over the years. Norm Patenaude was the original organizer of the Marathon. My research has indicated that Norm started the race in Chelmsford. It was in Sudbury, Espanola and then moved to Massey. In 1978, Russ Thom said that it was called the Rainbow Country Marathon and was located in Espanola. Norm remained the organizer until 1995 when he moved to Orillia. At that time , Marvin Maahs became the organizer. Marvin and Sandra had worked with Norm as volunteers and they took on the challenge,Official Race Website: http://www.masseymarathon.com
