Marathon: 7am Start time
The Marathon runs along the paved Lovell Canyon Road for roughly 11 miles twisting and turning covering rolling and gradually uphill terrain. At mile 11 marathoners will turn around and run 2.1 miles out and back along the same paved road, before returning to this same aid station. You will turn around again and return the 11 paved miles back to the finish line. The course is very easy to follow and will be well marked. 8 hour time cut

If you are looking for a long distance trail run that’s not too taxing, the paths and gently rolling hills of McDowell Mountain Regional Park are perfect. Aid stations are about 5 miles apart, so bring a water bottle. Eight hour time limit.

While the weather has proven to be unpredictable, it does average between 50 to 80 degrees. There will be two aid stations set up, one at the start/finish line and one halfway through the park at the turnaround.
For the ninth year in a row, Savage Racing will be hosting the 12th Savage Seven Challenge in Ocala, Florida! It is the perfect way to finish off the year with 7 Marathons, Half Marathons or 50K race. For the 2021-2022 Challenge, we will start the SEVEN day challenge on December 27, 2021 and end on January 2, 2022. This course gives 26.2 runners some of the most scenic wilderness views anywhere! For the marathoner looking to ditch the pavement and get a trail run fix without taking off their beloved road running shoes, Priest Lake gives all the scenery of a trail race with lush cedar forests, lakeshore running, and big mountain views, but on compacted dirt forest road. Enjoy the scenery and focus on your run, not technical trail. Priest Lake has become a destination run for marathoners across the nation looking for an Idaho marathon to make their 50 state goal. An annual favorite for our Marathon Maniac friends!
Commencing at an elevation of roughly 4500 feet, runners will experience high desert vegetation to include Joshua Trees, Pinion-Juniper, Mountain Rose, Sagebrush, and a relatively lush Toiyabe National Forest not commonly associated with Las Vegas. The road twists and turns thru the canyon; a true treasure of the Spring Mountains N.R.A. enjoying temperatures ~10 degrees cooler than the Las Vegas Valley, under the late summer nighttime sky.
Spectators are an important part of any race- they give you that boost of energy when you need it most, encourage you when you’re feeling low, and can pep you up to fly into the finish line! Calico Racing wants you and your spectators to have a fun and safe experience.
There are two different half marathon races. The Half Marathon (& 10 Km) on Saturday starts in Susanville and goes out and back using only the last quarter of the full marathon route. The Express Half Marathon on Sunday does the second half of the full marathon. You will be bused to a remote start.
General DWD Course Information: The footing (What footing?) is rocky, muddy (a few river crossings) and loose in places. The trail is not maintained (non-existent) in some areas. We love this stuff and hope you do too.
Is the trail as tough as advertised? Yes and No. It’s no run down a nature trail (but at times it is just that), you will get wet and muddy. You won’t get swept down stream in any whitewater.
